Bayview Village

A new era for a historic destination.

Long before it became one of Toronto’s most sought-after neighbourhoods, Bayview Village had already made its mark as a destination of distinction.

For generations, Bayview Village has defined luxury living in North York. With its enviable combination of stately homes, tree-lined streets, and high-end shopping, this is a place where elegance and ease live side by side.

HISTORY of
bayview village

1963

Open-Air Origins Bayview Village opened as a value-oriented, open-air shopping centre anchored by Kmart. Designed for the car-focused lifestyle of the era, it quickly became a convenient hub for the surrounding neighbourhood.

1977

Becoming an Indoor Mall In 1977, the centre was enclosed to align with shifting retail trends. Bayview Village soon distinguished itself from other malls by attracting upscale boutiques and unique, one-of-a-kind concepts, giving it a curated, boutique feel.

2013

A New Chapter with QuadReal Bayview Village was acquired by QuadReal in 2013, opening the door to long-term planning and a bold vision for its next evolution.

2017

Planning the Future By 2017, redevelopment plans were underway — envisioning Bayview Village as a modern, mixed-use community integrating retail, residential living, and vibrant public spaces.

2024

North Village Breaks Ground In 2024, construction began on the North Village: three new residential buildings, including a 23-storey tower, anchored by a new open-air retail promenade. This milestone brings Bayview Village full circle — returning to its open-air roots while creating a contemporary, community-oriented destination.
